Inspired by a ladybird landing on me. I know she's rather on the large side but I needed her to be rotund because that's what shape ladybirds are. A skinny ladybird would look weird, I think. I also wanted her to look sort of upper class. Someone that people would notice coming into the ballroom of a rich party. That's the scene I imagine her in anyway.

I really enjoyed doing this. Sometimes, the whole picture is a real effort and struggle but this one happened almost by itself. Everything just flowed from my fingers. I love how her eyes came out, too. Actually, I like her whole head area.

Ladybirds are cool insects. :D

Really beautiful picture, I like it :) Well, I'm not very great fun of ladybugs. Pretty insects, indeed, but they smell terrible ! I prefer butterflies more. But your pic is fantastic, and so colorful...

Wow, i love the eyes and the whole beauty of the piece. The detail on the white wings is great!!!! It is definetly a fav. =)

Yes, but both terms are correct.
Ladybird is just far less commonly used.
Just use whichever you like more. :nod:

This one would look awkward slim.
