This is my newest character, Istas. He's kind of a culmination of a few things I've either drawn or have wanted to draw for ages, and ideas/readings/conversations I've had recently.

Istas is a watcher over the entrance to the "source". The "source" being a spiritual world where *everything* is held. Humans sometimes tap into this source and are inspired and enlightened. You can connect through dreams/sleep, having a NDE, or through having a large sudden shock to the body eg. being punched, hitting the ground after falling off a bike etc. Some people who's personalities are receptive can also seem to tap into this source a lot easier than others. It also seems that the more creative a person, the easier it is for them to connect. Psychics or people that somehow pick up on information they otherwise would/could not have, get their information from this source, also.

The name is a North American Indian name meaning "Snow". I asked a few people what the neme "Istas" made them picture in terms of colours and feel and *everyone* said white with a highly contrasting colour of either black or blue. My awesome friend ~drainpipe said that to him, it felt cold and indifferent and like a huge expanse of nothingness or eternity. This is what I've tried to draw.
